Woo Hoo! Judge Bulldogs win….. 41-6! Yippeee! It was awesome and so much fun! Tyson played ALOT! He played on special teams the first half of the game, but played most of the second half on defense and was in on some major tackles! It was cool! Mad props going out to a few of Tyson’s friends that had great plays! CD (Cort Dennison) going like 95 yds. on an interception for a TD! Very cool! Jordan Benson scooping up a fumble for another TD! Jordan Weidle had an awesome circus catch in the end zone for a TD and Chad Meske played defense like a kid twice his size. Man, that kid can hit HARD! It was a good win for Judge and a great way to start the season! Next weekend we head to Boise for a game against another catholic school (Bishop Kelly). Should be a ton of fun… Marianne, if you are reading this… COCKTAILS are on the agenda for sure! Plan on it! Go Bulldogs!
The high school football season officially begins in …..1 hour and 47 minutes….
WOO HOO! GO BULLDOGS! I am so excited for this year! Tonight is the first varsity game and the first time Tyson will play as a starter. This year will be tougher for him as far as playing time goes. Last year the freshmen had their own team and Tyson got a lot of playing time. He led the team in TD’s with 7. It was a great year and he was chosen to "dress" for 5 varsity games including an "away" game. He played 6 downs in the last varsity game of the season and was one of three freshmen to earn a varsity letter. Fastforward to this year. He is a sophmore and must play JV or varsity. The team has a lot of talented juniors and seniors ahead of Tyson, so his playing time will be limited to starting special teams on varsity and then more playing time with the JV team. Nevertheless, Tyson has commited himself to try hard each and every practice, so if the time comes when they may need him at running back or linebacker, he will be ready!
I think my favorite times over the last few years is sitting at a ball game or cheerleading competition watching my kids do their thing! I just can’t think of anyplace that I would rather be. They are growing up so fast and I want to treasure every possible minute with them. Tyson will be getting his drivers license in the next few months. It makes me sad! Even though it will be great not to have to drive him around everywhere (since his high school is 15-20 minutes away), I will miss our car talks. It is one of the few times that we can talk uninterrupted and I love it. I find out more things during car rides than any other time. Another thing I will miss is driving carpool! Oh my! Those boys say the funniest things! Especially the boys that don’t belong to me! As I’m sure my boy does in other cars! I love it and will miss it for sure!
Okay, these are AMAZING! I had no idea! Tyson’s high school sells t-shirts and all kinds of jewelry and stuff to support his school and football team. All the shirts are men’s style t-shirts though… and I am not a big fan of them. So…. while I was at Paper Creations in SLC, I notice the Heidi Swappp Iron-on transfers. I thought I could swing by Target or Old Navy and pick up a t-shirt for Madi and I and try the iron-ons. Well they works SO WELL! I can’t believe it. I have used the iron on transfer paper from hp and other co’s and this was by far better! Here are the t-shirts… sorry for the bad scan…
Don’t cha just love it? And sometimes it comes at a time or on a day when you need it soooo bad! And after your time together everything seems so much better. Like you have just had a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. I have had two of those times recently.
The first was at CKU-A in SLC. We have had such a busy summer with the kids and all of their sporting events that there has been no ME TIME. And believe me, I NEED MY ME TIME! So the weekend of August 3-7 I got to spend quality time with my friends Angie from Indiana, and Marlo and Linda from Cali, along with Linda’s darling daughter-in-law Julie. We had THE best time! It was so great to just relax, enjoy good friends and renew my desire to scrapbook.
Last night was the other girlfriend time that came on a day, during a week that I really needed it! I spent the evening drinking wine with my awesome friends Debbie and Patti. Debbie had just returned from 10 days (or something like that), in Lake Tahoe so we needed to catch up with each other. It was so nice to relax and talk about everything and anything. These two women are just amazing! I can’t say enough about them. They always listen to me unload all my problems and offer me friendship and support. They never judge me or make me feel like my concerns are invalid. They are both incredible mothers and wives. They truly are an inspiration to me. I am so happy that we somehow found our ways into each others lives and families.
So, here’s to the amazing women in my life! Too many to list, but I thank you all for the frienships, fun times, laughter and tears!

Okay, I think I am finally done messing with the banner of this page. I seriously cannot figure out how to insert a picture and not have it all skewed because of the size of the banner. Thanks to Donna Downey for trying to help me! I’m just a nerd! So, this is the banner that stays until I can figure it out.
Today is Thursday, although I swear when I woke up I thought it was Friday. I got all excited that it was the last workday of the week…. and then the reality hit. UGH!
I have been moved up to the front desk at work…. and now I sit far away from everyone else in the office. I feel like I’ve been put in time-out for not playing well with others! It’s sad. I’m lonely. Ü
Have a great Thursday everyone! It’s almost FRIDAY! WOO HOO!
I know I just barely posted….. but I just had to post again. Bare with me….
As many of you know, I suffer from depression… and if you didn’t know, we’ll I do. Ü I have suffered from depression for approximately 6 years. It began about 6 months after the death of my sister-in-law. My doctor diagnosed me with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Apparently, I went into denial mode and decided I needed to be strong to take care of my brother, niece, dh and kids. (A trait I learned from my mom Ü) Anyway, my body finally rebelled and I became depressed. I have been on a variety of anti-depressants over the years which have helped me immensly. Well, I have been feeling very depressed lately. Extremely depressed. Today has been a horrible day and I have felt on edge the entire time. Like I could throw the phone through the window or something…. Okay, to make a long story short…. I received my ribbon order from www.stranodesigns.com today! OMG! I can’t beleive that a baggie of ribbons could bring such joy and happiness! Maybe it is the colors, the polka dots, the stripes… who knows! All I know is that it made me happy! Maybe I should just order ribbon everyday! Forgo the medication! LOL! Thanks for listening to more rambling!
What a weekend! I’m kind of glad it is over though! The weekend started off with an end of season swim party for Madi’s softball team on Friday night . The party was for parents and players and was a lot of fun. I’ll post pictures as soon as I get them developed. Friday also marked the end of two-a-day football practices for Tyson. Phew! What a relief! What a long week for him.
Saturday brought softball tryouts for Madison for the 2006 Utah Sting team. You can see her team website here: www.utahsting.com According to Madi, she did "okay". I’m sure she did great, as Madi is not one to boast or pat herself on the back. She’ll know on Friday the 19th whether or not she made the team. We don’t have any doubts, but you never know!
Tyson had his first real scrimmage of the year. It was the Red and Gold game for his high school team. He was on the Red team (which won…. YEA!). He did great and had so much fun. He absolutely LOVES football. Even though 2-a-days were brutal, he loved every minute of it. This year will be harder for Tyson since he is a sophmore and playing time will be harder to come by. With all the juniors and seniors ahead of him it will be a year of learning and patience! Here are some photos of the game.
Tyson is #3 on Red and #80 on gold.
We also attended a 16th birthday party for Tyson’s friend Chris. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS! We love spending time with the Hanings! We had pizza and wine and just hung out while all the kids did their thing! FUN!
Sunday, Tyson and I hung out at the pool with Patti and Chris Haning. It was so nice and relaxing. Madi chose to stay home, as she had 3 sleepovers the week before and was exhausted! I don’t blame her.
That is our weekend in a nutshell. I saw my niece Erin for the first time in weeks! She has grown up so much! She spent most of the summer with Chris and Amy at the ranch. I was glad to see her though…. I sure miss her.
Now it is back to the grind. UGH! Work isn’t so fun these days. I am moving back up to the phones on Thursday. Along with all my other work, I am now the receptionsist and responsible for a whole other mess of stuff. Needless to say, I am looking around for something else. For my sanity! Ü
If you do read this blog… feel free to comment me. So at least I know someone out there is wondering how we are doing! Ü
I just thought I would post one of my SHE layouts that I did in Heidi’s Album track at CKU-A. I have been scrapping all week, trying to finish this album. It is my goal this month!
Linda Beeson sent me this photo! It is of Angie, Marlo, Linda and I with Heidi Swapp at CKU-A. If you read my post below about how great the class was, you know that Heidi is my hero! What a great time with some wonderful friends!
Woo Hoo! It is Friday! I am so glad. Madi had another sleepover last night. Four girls giggling into the wee hours of the night, makes for an exhausted Mom and Dad! But I don’t really mind. Tonight we are off to the end of season softball BBQ and swim party at Madi’s coach’s house. It should be fun.
Tomorrow is a full day of sports (what else is new!)….. Madi has softball tryouts for the 2006 season in the morning. This year they are making all the girls tryout again…. even if they have been on the team for 5 years. I don’t know if any new girls will show up for tryouts or not. I have heard rumors that there will be a few. We’ll see!
Tyson has the Red and Gold Scrimmage tomorrow morning! I can’t wait! The official start of football season. He is a sophmore this year so his playing time will most likely be limited. He will hopefully start varsity on Special Teams, but will get most of his playing time on the JV team. He is excited, Carl is excited and I am excited! Did I mention I am excited?
In honor of both kids’ sporting events tomorrow, I thought I’d post a couple of photos!
