Tyson has decided to ask Riley. The girl who asked him to Winter Formal last year. She is such a nice girl! And very pretty! She is an athlete (softball player), so they have that in common! They are great friends and she doesn’t hang with T’s ex-girlfriend’s crowd, so that is good! He dropped off a bag of candy (Baby Ruth’s and bubble gum) along with a new softball. We wrote letters all over the softball in washable markers. Except we wrote T Y S O N in permanent marker. She has to wash the softball to find out who asked her. Hopefully, she will say YES! Please say a prayer! Ü
And for those that asked….. Tyson didn’t get in on offense during the first half of the game. He was to rotate in/out with another sophomore (Lewis Walker). BUT, Lewis started the game and did AWESOME so they kept feeding him the ball. Which was totally fine with Tyson. I love that about him. He is so happy when others do well! Love him! He did make the first tackle of the game on special teams. He did a great job when he was in! We are so proud of him! Thanks for comments and emails! So appreciate them! Here is a pic of the bag we dropped off to Riley, and a pic of last year’s Winter Formal.
The varsity star running back will be on the bench for the first half of the game tonight. For missing practice. Tyson got the call. He’ll be playing running back in the varsity game tonight. He called me right after school. Called me, his Mom. Didn’t call Dad. Thought of Mom first. Love that kid! He’s super nervous. So am I. My tummy has been in knots since he called. It was one thing to play on special teams in the varsity game. And then getting in when we were ahead. But to play on offense right off the bat? In the biggest game of the year. Oh my. Must stay calm. He will do fine. He is Tyson after all.
I think Tyson would say yesterday was "BLACK THURSDAY" for him. Poor guy! This week is a big football week as we play the "other" catholic high school (Juan Diego) here in Salt Lake. HUGE RIVALS! The games are never pretty. The JV team lost 18-7. The game was a lot closer than the score indicated, but the boys were heartbroken. Our defense did awesome and held Juan Diego so many times on 3rd and 4th down. Tyson had a monster game with close to 100 yrds. rushing and he did score the only touchdown. He still wasn’t happy though. He was called for unsportsman-like conduct with about 2 minutes to go in the game. He let a swear word out. I’m thinking it wasn’t just any swear word either. It was probably the mother of all swear words. Oi vey! He felt horrible about it. But that kid needs to learn. (I’m sorry if anyone was offended by that…. unfortunately, with high school sports the language could curl your toes) And to top it off…. the girl he asked to Homecoming said NO!She is a friend of Tyson’s ex-girlfriend, and the ex-girlfriend threatened to terminate their friendship if she went with Tyson. The same thing happened with the first girl Tyson was going to ask. They talked about it, and decided that the ex-girlfriend would hold it against her friend. So…. back to square one. He felt pretty bad about it. The girl he asked was sad about it too. This ex-girlfriend just continues to make things difficult for Tyson! Thankfully, Tyson is now realizing how controlling and over-bearing she was. He has now vowed that he WILL NOT have a girlfriend in high school! Ü We’ll see how long that lasts!
Big varsity game tonight! We are playing at home so hopefully, we’ll have a little bit of an advantage! GO BULLDOGS!
HOMECOMING! Well, next week anyway. Tyson was taking his sweet time deciding who to ask to the dance this year. Last night he finally decided to ask a cute girl named Jenny. So, off to Target we went. We picked up a cool glass candy jar like this:
that we filled with DUM-DUM suckers and Smarties. We attached this tag to it:
He took the jar full of candy to school today. He was going to have a friend of his have it sitting on her desk in CP (Home Room) Hopefully, she will say YES!
Why don’t more people have it? What is the deal? I frequent a message board that has thousands of members. If you are a scrapper, you know exactly which site I am talking about. It amazes me how many seemingly "nice" threads turn into train wrecks in the blink of an eye. And I admit it…. I’m one of those rubber neckers that can’t tear herself away from the wreck! Ü But seriously, why don’t people have more tolerance for others? What is right for me, may not be right for you! What religion I choose, may not be right for you. Who am I to say how you should parent your child? So what if you choose not to breastfeed your child. Maybe you’re not able to. What gives me the right to chastise you for your choice? And so what if you have a tattoo? (I have 2 by the way). It is your choice. It certainly doesn’t "hurt" me. Do you homeschool? If you do, great! If you don’t, great too! What concern is it of mine? Do you see where I am going with this? My world is gray. Not black and white. Not cut and dried. What works for me, may not work for you. What is a sin to me, may not be a sin to you. Would I have left New Orleans if I were told to evacuate? I would think so, but I really have no idea what I would do. I’m not in that situation. Would I leave without knowing where missing family member were? I haven’t a clue. I can’t even imagine what some of these people are going through. So how can I say whether their choices were right or wrong? I don’t think I can.
Okay enough venting! I’ll step off my soapbox for now! Thanks for listening!
Woo Hoo! We beat Ben Lomand 61 -0! What an awesome game. The boys played so well! Tyson had a great game on special teams during the first half. The second half Tyson got in on defense as well, making some nice tackles. During the 4th quarter with a 48 – 0 lead, Tyson was able to get in on offense, racking up 121 yards rushing. Making him the leading rusher for the night! We were so excited and proud. This was in the Salt Lake Tribune on Saturday morning:
OGDEN — Judge Memorial’s Dominique Parker rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown. Tyson Moll added 121 yards on the ground. Judge Memorial (2-1, 0-0) 6 14 28 13 — 61 Ben Lomond (0-3, 0-0) 0 0 0 0 — 0 J — Price 8 run (kick fail) J — Price 2 run (Crandall kick) J — Hristou 15 pass to Wilde (Crandall kick) J — Price 22 run (Crandall kick) J — Price 34 run (Crandall kick) J — Parker 8 run (Crandall kick) J — Hristou 7 pass to Brown (Aragon kick) J — Bratke 19 run (Aragon kick) J — Pond 5 run (kick fail)
SO EXCITING! Also, here is a photo from the JV game on Thursday:
Actually Thursday does too since Tyson plays JV (which is on Thurs.) and Varsity which is on Friday nights. The Bulldogs play Ben Lomand this week. The freshmen team won 48-0 and the JV team won 43-0. It was a great game and Tyson scored 2 TD’s! Hopefully, the varsity team will follow suite and win big too! Go BULLDOGS!
Also playing tonight is the UNIVERSITY of UTAH! Woo Hoo! Go UTES! They are playing Arizona here at Rice Eccles Stadium. GO UTES!
Madi has soccer games tomorrow (Mayor’s Cup) and nothing else the rest of the day. Scrap maybe? Hmmmm, we’ll see. Sunday we are going to an annual pool party that our friend’s host each year. This year one of them is battling breast cancer so the theme is COCKTAILS FOR CANCER. It should be a fun day of relaxing, chatting with friends, and or course having a cocktail or two!
No plans for Monday. More scrappping? That would be awesome! I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend! And continued prayers going out to those affected by Hurricane Katrina! Peace be with you!
I came acrossed a post today at 2peas from Katrine regarding her day volunteering at the Astrodome in Houston with the New Orleans refugees. Here is the link to her blog: Katrine . It is really worth reading. It is nice to get a different view than what the news is showing us. This made me feel a tad bit better. I hope and pray that all of those affected by Hurricane Katrina can get the help and assistance that they so desperately need.
Okay, I’m going to admit this for all the world to see…. or the few people that do actually read my blog! Ü I am really loving the new Back Street Boys song "Just Want You To Know"! I really like it. It makes me happy. And I like to sing along. And yes, I do realize that I’m a nerd! You can listen to it here VH1.
