High school basketball tryouts are happening now. Right now. I’m nervous. Does anyone else get crazy nervous when their kids are doing stuff like this? Tyson is a sophomore. He made the freshmen team last year. This year he has the option of trying out for varsity or sophomore. The JV team is comprised of players from the varsity team and the sophomore team. I think he is going to tryout for the varsity team just for the ‘heck of it’. For the experience. To scrimmage against the big boys. Most of his friends were doing the same. The soph tryouts and the varsity tryouts are being held at the same time. If they are cut from varsity today, they go to soph tryouts tomorrow. I’m nervous. He should make the sophomore team. But you never know. Speaking of Tyson…. he brought home his sophomore pictures last week. The first ones were horrendous. He looked very strange! Ü Got retakes and they’ll do. (Gotta love that football helmet rubbing his forehead and aggravating the breakouts!) I was gonna try and photoshop his forehead, but I don’t know how! Oh well! The joys of being a teenager! Hopefully, Madi’s retakes will turn out good too!
3-4 mornings a week, Tyson has an early morning weightlifting class. This means waking up at 5:15 to get him up and in the shower. While he is in the shower and then eating breakfast, I am usually laying in bed in that half asleep/half awake state. That time when you are thinking of scrapbook layouts that never get completed. Interior decorating things that never get done. Chores and organization around the house, that you have every intention of doing when you wake up, but forget about because you aren’t completely awake….. Been there?
Well this morning I was thinking about some of my favorite toys from the 70’s. Where did that thought come from? Haven’t a clue. BUT, it has stayed with me all day. (I must have been more awake than I thought). Anyway, here are a few of my faves from "back in the day"…
So we have… KIDDLES! Remember these! I used to love them! Especially the locket and cologne ones! Cute! And the Sunshine Family! The pic is kind a blurry, but they were a totally 70’s family. I had their house too… which was sooo cool! Open rooms and a removable roof! And do you remember Avon fragrance pins? The frangrance was pretty nasty, but the pins were so cute! And my ALL TIME FAVORITE…. MRS. BEASLEY! Loved her! I used to try and make her plastic glasses fit my face. They used to pinch! Anyway… a little trip down memory lane! Put a smile on my face which was much needed! Anyone else remember these? Or have them?
The annuaol Crowell Advertising "CROWELLOWEEN ’05" party was today. Lot’s of work involved. Decorating all day on Friday. Six hours on Saturday. The party was a success. Here are a few photos….
Me and Carl (aka Gene Simmons??????)…
The kids are off trick-or-treating with friends….. And I’m TIRED!
Tyson is off to the Halloween Dance at school! It is a costume dance and he just couldn’t decide what to be. Finally, he chose to be a ‘surfer dude’. Which was so EASY, since he already had everything. I drew a Ron Jon Surf Shop tattoo on his arm and off he went! Oh, to be in high school again! Fun times!
The Judge Bulldogs lost 14-12 last night to the Juan Diego Soaring Eagle. Sad. It was cold and rainy. Neither team played all that well, but we definitely had an edge. We handed the game to them. Tyson had a good game on special teams and got in for a few plays on offense. We don’t lose too many seniors and we will gain some awesome freshmen. Maybe next year, huh? Although, this season was head and shoulders about last year. It was a fun season and a great group of players.
It’s the beginning of the State Playoffs today! Woo Hoo! GO BULLDOGS! We play tonight at 7:00 pm. We play Juan Diego (of all the draws) @ Juan Diego. We beat them once already this year, but they will definitely be gunning for us! We had our regular team dinner last night for the team and the boys seemed pumped up and ready! I’m nervous, which isn’t really unsual on game day. I have kept myself busy most of the day, not thinking of the big game. We have our annual "CROWELLOWEENPARTY" here at Crowell Advertising on Monday. It is one crazy party!!! Since we are having it on Halloween this year, the party is early 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. We’ve been decorating all day. I need to post pictures. Crazy ad people! Our theme is Heaven and Hell. We are all dressing like angels or devils. I’m going to be a devil. Easier. Our front lobby is decorated with stuffed animals, dolls and barbies hanging from nooses…… I told you… crazy ad people. We changed all our light bulbs to red bulbs. Looks pretty cool!
Off to decorate more! Happy Friday everyone!! AND GO BULLDOGS!!!!
I did my first layout in Adobe Photoshop today. Man, that program has a steep learning curve. The layout isn’t so great. Not much time to really mess around with it. I am at work, afterall! Ü Just some photos from Madi’s birthday. Fun day for her. Lot’s of great presents. She is spoiled. But very worth the spoiling!
This day is going by so slowly! UGH! The kids were out of school yesterday and today for UEA (Utah Education Association?), so football games were on Wed. & Thurs. of this week and it has totally messed me up! Yesterday should have been Friday. And today is just dragging.
BIG NEWS! The Bulldogs beat Park City @ Park City last night! WOO HOO! Playoffs here we come! It was a great game. Tyson recovered a fumble in the 3rd quarter, which he was so excited about. We play either next Friday or Saturday. We play Juan Diego, the other Catholic High School here in SLC. Should be a good, intense game.
Madi turns 13 on Sunday. I can’t believe it! So, birthday celebrations this weekend. Not much else going on. Tyson will have some plans I’m sure, which will involve Carl and I driving. But, maybe I’ll get some more scrapping done. One can always hope!
HAPPY FRIDAY! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Congrats to the UTAH STING! They played in their 100th game of the year last night! They won the Fall League Championship last night beating their opponent 15-2! Go Sting! Madi pitched the first half of the game and did awesome!
Tyson’s team played in their last JV football game of the year. So sad. It was the last game played on the current field/stadium. The stadium is scheduled to be torn down and rebuilt in the next few weeks. Sad. Good news though ~ Judge beat Park City 33-7. It was a great game, but our rivalry is so heated that it got very ugly in the 4th quarter. The ref threw out one of the Park City players which makes him ineligible for the varsity game tonight. The PC coach was furious. The PC coaches refused to shake hands with our players and our coaches. The complained that we were trying to run up the score as well. Hello? 33-7 is running up the score? They beat us 56-0 last year. Crazy. Anyway, tonight the varsity game is AT Park City. The fans will be ruthless. Last year several PC students were shirtless and painted gold crosses with lines through them on their chests. Our principal compained to the PC principal. Unfortunately, he didn’t see anything wrong with it. Sad. Tonight is a must win situation for us. If we win, we are in the state playoffs. If we lose, we are done. Here’s hoping that we win!
Still no word on the interview, except that it went well. I should know more by the first part of the week. Possibly a second interview. Happy Thursday everyone!
