THANKS FOR PLAYING! Happy Thursday! Oh~ I almost forgot….. Madi’s softball team is doing awesome at the Triple Crown World Series! WOO HOO! They play tomorrow at 10:00 am! Go Madi!
The Triple Crown World Series for fastpitch softball is going on this week, here in Utah (Thank God, no long distance travel for this tournament!) in Park City. The Opening Ceremonies and pin trading happened yesterday, with pool play beginning today. The Utah Sting played this morning at 8:30 against the Oregon Riptide (we tied), and then again at 10:30 against the Arizona Americans (we WON). It was soooooooo hot and humid! The poor girls were exhausted and overheated! But they did great! We play again tomorrow and then tournament play will begin on Thursday. So far, the girls have done great and are having a fun time. We have a busy week of softball ahead of us….and 4 baseball games for Tyson. It’s a typical week for the Moll Family!!!! Ü
In other news…… I have something going on with my back! I was bending over shaving my legs in the shower on Monday morning when I felt a horrible burst of pain in my lower back. Since then, I have had a hard time walking, sitting, standing and sleeping! I spent yesterday afternoon at InstaCare, without getting any real answers. The "possible" diagnosis, is a lower back strain, or maybe kidney stones. UGH! They gave me a nice little shot in my tush (ouch!) which was a high dosage of an anti-inflamatory, and sent me home with prescriptions for a muscle relaxant, pain pill, and more anti-inflamatories. So far, NONE of the pills have helped! What is up with that? The pain pill takes the edge off the pain, but it is still there. Anyone have any experience with lower back pain like this? I have strained my back before, and this pain feels much different….more "inside" me. Does that make sense? I hope it eases up soon…… Good thoughs for me??? Ü
Thank God It’s Friday! What a LONG week! I’m not used to working 5 full days in a row! No photos from Lake Tahoe yet. I still have to finish the roll in my camera, so I’ll take some photos at Tyson’s baseball game tonight. Hopefully, I’ll get them in to be developed this weekend.
In other news…. not much else is going on! Life is crazy, busy still. Our street is still torn up, and the last two weeks have been a real pain in the BUTT!! UGH! They have cemented one strip of the street (2 more to go), and we have trucks and people all over the street at all hours of the day AND NIGHT! We can’t park our cars anywhere near our house, which make bringing in groceries and suitcases just GREAT! Ü
I came across this photos on my computer today. I took it a few months back, with the intention of posting ithere. Obviously, that never happened!
The Ad Agency that I work for is located in an old train station, which is an anchor to an outdoor shopping mall called The Gateway. One of the fun attractions at the Gateway is the Olympic Legacy Plaza, which is a huge plaza with fountains that go off in time with music. In the summertime (and sometimes winter), the fountain is FULL of kids of all sizes playing in the water! When the Olympic Legacy Plaza was being built, prior to the Olympics, they offered the public the opportunity to purchase bricks that would be laid as part of the plaza. My AWESOME MOM decide that it would be fun if we all had "family bricks"….. so she bought us each one! And here is the one my AWESOME MOM bought for my family :
Pretty cool, huh!!!!!
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have an awesome weekend! We’ve got a few baseball games for T and a softball practice for Madi! A trip to the pool might be in my future as well!
The Judge Bulldogs won the South Tahoe Shootout! Woo Hoo! They had a record of 7-1 with their only loss coming in the last seconds of the game after being tied up. We had such a great time. I’ll post photos tonight after getting them developed. Madi’s team Utah Sting did well in the State Fastpitch Tournament, but were knocked out on Saturday morning. Bummer! I’m back at work today (UGH!!!!!), trying to catch up, so I will post more later!
Yeah, yeah… I know….I’m a day late! But that is typical, I’m ALWAYS a day late and a dollar short! It is the story of my life!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We sure did. We spent part of the weekend in Pocatello, Idaho watching Tyson play basketball. Had a few trips to the pool, a FUN family BBQ at my parents house on Sunday, a GREAT BBQ with the Meskes, Hurtys, Webbers & Beplates on Monday night and we then headed up to Eaglewood Golf Course for a great fireworks display, and just hung around the house yesterday relaxing. I spent a few more hours at the pool yesterday, and then Madi, Carl and I BBQ’d pork chops and rented a movie to watch. Pretty low key. Tyson met some friends in Salt Lake and watched more fireworks at Sugar House park. All in all… a very NICE weekend/holiday!
And Tyson and I are off tomorrow for…….LAKE TAHOE! Woo Hoo! Tyson is playing in a basketball tournament with the high school team, and I am going a long to watch. We fly out tomorrow morning. While we are gone, Madi’s softball team is playing in the State Fast Pitch Tournament. I hope they do AWESOME!
A few pictures to share ~ Madi after her first softball game with the high school team (doesn’t she look thrilled to be having her picture taken!) Ü
Two of Madi’s campaign posters for Student Council (I never got around to posting before)
And one last photo ~ looking outside the balcony of our hotel room in Steamboat Springs. How gorgeous is that?
Also, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my special friend needing them. She is doing better, but still needing all the prayers she can get! THANKS!
At least with this blog! Well, I know there are other things that I am definitely SLACKING on, but as far as YOU know….this is it!!!! Ü
Madi and I spent the weekend in Boise with her softball team, the UTAH STING. They were playing in the Boise Blast Triple Crown Qualifier Tournament. AND…. they WON! WOO HOO! Go Sting! The girls went undefeated and swept the competition! They played so well, and we were so excited for them! It was SO HOT though! UGH! The championship game was @ 3:00 in the afternoon on Sunday. The poor girls (and us parents!) were melting! Ü SO… HUGE CONGRATS to Madison for a great tournament and a FUN weekend together!
Also, CONGRATS to Tyson. He was named SECOND TEAM ALL STATE in BASEBALL in the Salt Lake Tribune today! Here is the link: All State Baseball . Here is the little ‘blurb’ mentioning Tyson:
Second Team Kelly Garcia, Senior, Judge Memorial Tyler Griffin, Senior, Tooele Kelby Hulet, Senior, Canyon View Matt Lundin, Junior, Dixie Adam Martinez, Senior, Carbon Guy Mecham, Junior, Wasatch Tyson Moll, Soph., Judge Memorial AJ Nunley, Senior, Tooele
A few weeks ago, he was also named Honorable Mention All State in the Deseret News, which was very exciting for him.
In other news….Madi is going to play her first softball game with the high school summer team tomorrow night. EEEK! Even though she is only 13.5, and won’t be going to high school for another year, she has been asked to help out the team. They play in an 18U division, so it should be interesting. Madi has been playing comp. softball for the last 5-6 years, so she should be able to hang in there. Tyson had football camp at Idaho State last week, and a basketball camp/tournament at the Universtiy of Utah over the weekend, so that has kept him extra busy as well! He’ll be home for a few days, and then head back to Idaho State (why Idaho?) with the high school team for another basketball camp over the weekend. No STING softball (other than practice) this week, so that is nice!
One more thing…. if you are the ‘praying type’, please offer up some prayers for a friend and fellow scrapbooker. She is really, really needing some healthy vibes and prayers right now! THANKS!
Today marks the first full week of summer for us! YIPPPEEEEE!!!! No getting Madi up and ready for school! No super early morning wake-ups for Tyson! Woo Hoo! I little more sleep for me! We are still crazy busy, with baseball, football, basketball and softball…. BUT NO HOMEWORK! Dude, that is the best thing EVAH!
Madi and I were in Steamboat Springs, Colorado last weekend for a Triple Crown Softball Tournament, while Carl and Tyson were in Logan for a varsity basketball tournament. Once again…. we were both watching sports, with several hundred miles between us. Such is life for the Moll family! Ü If you have never been to Steamboat Springs, I highly suggest a visit. A very quaint ski town. BEA-U-TIFUL! Although, going in June is best…. it is VERY GREEN! Going in August is VERY BROWN! Ü I have a gorgeous photo that I took outside the balcony of our hotel room, overlooking the ski mountain after a rainstorm….with a gorgeous rainbow! However, I my camera is at home. Bummer! I’ll leave you with a few softball photos from a few weeks ago. Carl and I were at Madi’s softball tournament TOGETHER! I can prove it…. I have a photo!:
And here is the lovely and talented Madi (looking less than thrilled!) along with her friend and partner in crime, Megan:
No softball games this weekend (Yea!), only practice tonight, and then a baseball game tonight, along with basketball practice tomorrow for Tyson….then Tyson leaves for football camp on Sunday (for a week!) and we’ll be in Boise for softball next weekend. Fun times! Happy Friday all!
CONGRATS to Madison! She was elected to the 8th Grade Student Council at her school for next year! She wasn’t sure she wanted to run for Student Council, but she decided to give it a go! She was very nervous for her speech this morning (and told me her lip was quivering the whole time she was reading), but SHE DID IT! WOO HOO! We are so proud of you Madi! Great job!
I have a few photos from the last few weeks that I want to share!
This is my niece ERIN! Isn’t she the CUTEST?!?!? This is her after receiving her First Holy Communion last weekend! She is wearing the same dress that Madi wore for her First Holy Communion, and she even let Aunt Ali do her hair! That is major!
Here is a picture of Madi at the St. George Tournament a few weeks ago. She isn’t normally a catcher, but she was warming up her friend Megan who was going in to pitch in the next inning. She is concentrating so hard! Ü
Can you stand a few more baseball photos? Here is a picture of Tyson and his friend Chad after their win (HUGE UPSET) against Pineview. They are each holding their home run balls. Tyson hit two, and Chad hit one. How freaking cool is that? The second picture is of Tyson and his friend Emma. She was wearing a shirt that said "MOLL #3" on the back of it, at the Judge vs. Wasatch game that we WON, which put us into the championship game! There was a group of sophomore girls that wore different shirts each day, with Tyson’s name on it, along with his friends Joe and Lewis. Cute, huh?!?
And, how sad is this photo? This is after we lost to Dixie in the Championship game. The boys were so down. I think everyone shed a few tears!
Only one more photo, I promise! This is what you see if you look down the street at the end of my driveway. Craziness. The whole street is torn up, and has been for the last month. It is supposed to stay this way until the end of July. What you don’t see is, if you look to the left you would see 3 bulldozers! It makes it very tough to get out of my driveway in and out of the driveway! Yikes!
That’s it for now! Thanks for taking a small (boring) peek into my life the last few weeks! Happy Wednesday (night)! Ü
