It’s me. Ali. Stopping in for my monthly (whatever happened to daily or weekly) post!
Let’s see where to begin…..
Want a good laugh? If so, go here My Web Debut I was interviewed by Creating Keepsakes magazine for their new Clique Tv. It was fun…. but dang I look skeeeeery!! And do I really sound like that?
Football. It’s over. We made it to the quarterfinals, but lost a game we shouldn’t have to Bear River H.S. Tyson scored a TD and had a great game, but that make him feel any better….the loss was very hard on the team.
Basketball. Tryouts were at the beginning of the week. Tyson didn’t make the varsity team…..after traveling with them all summer, and being given every indication that he would be playing varsity this year. It was weird. But, he is going to play JV. And that is good.
Softball. We had an nice little break for a few weeks….but Carl and Madi left this morning for St. George for another tournament. As of 30 minutes ago…Madi was pitching (had 4 strike outs) and WE (Utah Sting) were leading 2-0. Go STING!
I’ve been scrapbooking a little here and there….maybe a little more this weekend. Who knows! The High School Tyson goes to is having their annual Auction Gala on Saturday night. I am attending (for the first time) with a few good girlfriends….I have to find something to wear though….. Cocktail attire, Black Tie encouraged…. Should be fun!
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a NICE WEEKEND!!!!!
14 years ago today, I gave birth to the most beautiful little girl in the world….Madison Alexandra Moll! A 7lb 11oz girl with a full head of black hair came into our lives and touched our hearts forever! Happy Birthday Madi! You light up our lives and make us laugh! I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!!!!!!
Seriously! Where did it go? It seems like I just posted a day or so ago….but I guess not. Life has been busy! And my job…..well, it is good, but I swear I haven’t worked this hard in years! Ü I am busy from the moment I get to work, until the moment I leave work!!!! And, I never take a lunch! What is up with that? I do enjoy it though….so it’s all good!
What has happened since my last post? Um, football, football, football! It’s that time of year, you know! Tyson has fully recovered from his knee injury and is back playing full force. He is starting on both offense and defense and rarely comes out of the game. The last two weeks he has been named "Running Back of the Game", which we were all excited about! We were enjoying a #2 ranking in 3A for a while, but we lost to the #1 team (Park City)…. it was a game that was played in pooring rain. The field was a big old mud pit. The laundry was fun after that game! (Thanks Carl!) Since then, we haven’t lost a game yet, and we dedicated our new stadium last Friday night at Homecoming with another win.
Madi has been enjoying a nice little weather imposed break from softball. She went to St. George for a tournament a few weeks ago, and it was rained out. Bummer! And then a tournament the next weekend was rained out. She starts back up again with practice this Saturday, and then gears up for another trip to St. George in November. She been having a fun time with her friends hanging out at the high school football games….getting ready for being a student next year! I’m thinking the next few weekends will be all about football games, haunted houses and birthday stuff for Madi. Madi loves October! She LOVES Halloween and her birthday is on teh 23rd! Wow 14 years old! I’m getting old, if my youngest is that old! Ü
Here are some photos from the Homecoming/Football Field Dedication last Friday night. If you look closely, you can see the view that we have from the field. It is amazing!
Tomorrow I’ll post pictures and details of Tyson’s Homecoming Dance, aka "The Best Night of My Life"!
Where is has the time gone? Yikes! Happy Labor Day! We didn’t do much around here. Yesterday we attended an End of Summer Splash at some friends of ours. They have a huge pool party every year on the Sunday before Labor Day. It begins at 2:30 and goes until…. WHENEVER! Lot’s of food and fun! There have been some years that we didn’t get home until after 1:00 am! WOW! This year we were home by 10:00 pm. Still a long afternoon/evening. BUT FUN! Today was spent relaxing, cleaning, doing laundry, etc. Not too exciting. Tyson had film and football practice and after the pool party yesterday, Madi spent the night with a friend and swam all day today.
Tyson was able to play quite a bit of the game on defense on Friday night. The Judge Bulldogs beat the Woods Cross Wildcats 28-0. Tyson was bummed because he had been looking forward to playing the Wildcast since the schedule was announced last year. One of his best friends plays for the Wildcats and they couldn’t wait to play each other. Well fate intervened and Tyson hurt his knee, so he was questionable for Friday (which was bad enough in his mind), and then his friend broke his leg, two days later! What is up with that? While we were excited that Tyson was able to play defense most of the game, it was still bittersweet to look over at the Wildcat sidelines and see his friend on crutches! Bummer!
Next up…our Catholic School rival, Juan Diego. Should be intense! And Madi is off to St. George next weekend for a softball tournament! Fun times! Happy Monday! I hope this is a great week for everyone!
Yeah, yeah, I know. Bad, bad blogger! I’m tellin’ ya… this new job is kicking my butt! I love it though! But, I’m crazy, busy all the time!
Here is the latest and greatest from me:
School started. Yep, another year! Tyson started 11th grade (Yikes) and Madi started 8th grade (Yikes, again!). I didn’t get a photo of Tyson on his first day, since he has an early morning weightlifting class, and leaves the house by 6:00 am wearing messy gym clothes, and it is dark. Bummer. Madi was slightly accomodating…I did get a photo of her. See below! A cutie-patootie, no?
Football. As I posted last week, Tyson sprained his MCL and has been out of commision. He has been going to therapy, icing his knee, doing excercises and taking Ibuprofen religiously! We saw the Orthopedic dr. today, and the verdit is…….. TYSON HAS BEEN CLEARED TO PLAY on Friday night! WOO HOO! I’m tellin’ ya…..that kid has been jumping out of his skin, he wants to get back on that football field so bad! They are going to let him play a few series in the JV game tomorrow, to get some "hits" in. He is excited! Continued good thoughts and vibes are much appreciated!
We played Bishop Kelly last Saturday. They are a fellow Catholic School from Boise, Idaho and we take turns traveling to each other’s schools every year. This year the Bulldogs had their best game yet! We ended up losing 22-18, but we played awesome, and it was our closest game with Bishop Kelly yet. Tyson paced (and I mean PACED) the sidelines the whole game, part of it, with the team dog "TANK"….see photo below.
Tyson shaved his "beard" off. For picture day. For his Mom. Apparently, I’m the "only" one that doesn’t really care for it! Ü He’s going to grow it back. Ü
That is about it. School, homework, football, softball (still), and work, work work! Welcome to my world! I wouldn’t have it any other way! Well… except the work part! I wouldn’t mind being independently wealthy….so I wouldn’t have to work, and I could spend every waking moment bothering my kids! Ü
Oh, I added a few more random football pictures. I had my uncle’s NICE digital camera, so I took TONS (I mean TONS) of photos. #17 is Cort Dennison. Team Captain. Awesome guy! Damn good player! #12 is Jaxon Myaer. Quarter Back and funny, funny, goofy guy! He is also the star (and I mean star) point guard on the basketball team.
Happy Wednesday! Oh, and if you stop by my blog…. feel free to leave a comment! Really! It is OKAY! Ü There are so many visitors, and so few comments! Except my regulars…you know who you are!
19 years ago today (holy crap), Carl and I were married! One mortgage, two kids, a dog and cat later, and we are still here! Happy Anniversary Hon! I LOVE YOU!
Well, I have some good news and some bad news! Which do you want to hear first?
The good?
The bad?
I’ll give you the good first!
The Judge Bulldogs beat North Sanpete 40 – 21! It was an awesome game and a beautiful night for football! Tyson was the starting fullback on offense and did sooooo good! He made the first tackle of the game on kick off! So cool! He had three runs the first half, all with positive yardage and made a huge contribution on defense. He is also the deep snapper (snaps the ball on field goals and punts) and did great! I was more nervous for him at snapper than I was at running back or linebacker! Well…. it turns out I should have been more worried with him at running back! After the half, Tyson had two more great runs, the last one had him being tackled by at least five guys….everyone got up….. except Tyson. A mother’s nightmare right? Well it was his knee. Not good. And soooo disappointing! He missed the rest of the game, but cheered the Bulldogs on from the sidelines.
After a visit to the PT’s office on Saturday morning, it was determined that Tyson probably has a sprained MCL. Which isn’t the ACL, and it isn’t torn…. so that is a GOOD THING! He sees the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow, for a double check. If you could say a prayer, or cross your fingers for a speedy recovery for my guy, we would really appreciate it!! He can’t wait to get back out on the field! Here are some photos from Friday night….
First game. Tonight! I’m nervous and excited! The Judge Bulldogs take on North Sanpete @ 7:00 pm tonight. Even though it is technically a ‘home’ game, we won’t be playing on our home field. We are getting a new field (complete with turf) and new stadium, which won’t be completed until 9/29! That night is our HOMECOMING game and stadium dedication! WOO HOO!
Anyway…. back to tonight…. GO BULLDOGS! Here are some photos from last Saturday’s Red & Gold scrimmage! HAPPY FRIDAY!
The end of my first week at my new job (I don’t feel quite as dumb as I did the first day!)
The end of football 2 x days for Tyson (He has about 1.5 hrs left) and I know he is going to breath a sigh of relief! He LOVES (and I mean LOVES) football, but this week is always TOUGH!
Madi went boating/waterskiing with friends (not our family) for the first time. She was a little nervous because she KNEW her friends were going to make her wakeboard! Ü
The eve of the RED and GOLD game & BBQ! Tomorrow the Red team will scrimmage the Gold team to officially kick off the football season. I love football! Not as much as Tyson does, I’m sure (I don’t wish to be tackled, thank you very much), but I do love it!
Free lunch at work! Our office had Sugarhouse BBQ brought in for all of the employees today! Yum! Another nice way to end my first week of work at National Wood Products
Hmmm…. I guess that’s it. Not much more to report! Enjoy your Friday and weekend! I know I will!
This is the FLYGIRL, aka Madison. Isn’t she the cutest thing EVER?
This photo was taken in 1999 or 2000, which would make Madison about 5 or 6 yrs. old. We (Tyson, Madison and yes… ME!) raced BMX for quite a few years, but gave it up (except the occassional race) about 3-4 years ago, when Tyson and Madison’s other sports began to take over. Well…… the FLYGIRL has been jones’n to race lately!!! We headed out to RAD CANYON BMX on Saturday and Sunday for the Great Salt Lake Nationals to catch up with old friends and watch some racing… and Madi wants to race again! YIKES! She has already been out on my bike and one of Tyson’s (she has outgrown hers), and is looking for ‘cute gear’. So, in addition to softball, Madi may be racing again!
