It's almost St. Patrick's Day, and over the weekend I was craving a little treat. I decided to make some Pretzel Hugs/Kisses! So yummy and easy!
Cast of characters: Pretzels, M & M's and Hershey's Hugs
Start by placing pretzels on a baking sheet, and then topping each pretzel with a Hershey Hug. Place in a 200 degree oven for 8 minutes, just until the Hugs start to melt
Here they are straight out of the oven. Then place an M&M on each Hug. I used the green coconut M&M's.
What do you think? Have you ever made these? So easy, and so good! Salty and sweet!
If not, you should give it a try! Super easy and super fun!
I subscribe to the Jones Design Company monthly kit. It is the best $7.99 I spend each month!
Here is this month's kit:
I decided to make some note pads out of the grocery lists and the note cards in the kit.
My supplies include the grocery list and note pads printed out, paper cutter, binder clips, Notepad Padding Compound found here, and a paintbrush
Start by cutting down your paper along the dotted line – soooo easy!
I also cut a basic piece of cardboard for the back of the notepads. You can use anything from the back of a cereal box, so whatever you have lying around at home.
Line everything up, and using your pain brush, paint the Padding Compound all along the side you want to stick together. BE GENEROUS with the compound. Use binder clips to keep the papers together, while the compound dries (I leave mine overnight).
Since getting my new waffle iron/griddle/Panini press, I have been dying to find fun ways to use it. The very first thing I made (RIGHT when I got it home from the store!) were these Easy~Peasy Cinnamon Roll Waffles, and they were sooooo yummy! I've made them several more times since. I usually only make them so can have a 'taste', and give the rest to my hubby, since I'm trying to stay away from sugar and carbs.
Anyway………..I've been jonesin' for some type a steak sandwich for a while, and thought last Saturday night might be the perfect time to try something.
Ingredients:
New York Steak (thin cut), Arugula, Pepper Jack Cheese and Chipotle Mayo. I also used Sourdough Bread, but forgot to include that in the photo – doi!
I just seasoned the steak with salt and pepper before placing on the grill
While the steaks grilled, I smeared the bread with Chipotle Mayo and topped that with some Arugula. Have you ever tried the flavored Mayo? The Chipotle has a FABULOUS kick to it. Love it!
Then I placed the grilled steak on the Arugula and added sliced Jalapeno Jack cheese to the other slice of bread. Can you see my ½ sandwich there in the middle? LOL! I really wanted a WHOLE one. Oh well.
Then I put the sandwich back on the Panini grill for a little bit – look at the gooey cheese!
Do you Pin? If not, you should. Pinterest is a FABULOUS place! Simply FABULOUS! I've seen this (many variations!) recipe on Pinterest many times, from so many different people. So, this is nothing new, not rocket science, but it is truly something delicious and amazing
CINNAMON ROLL WAFFLES!
The cast of characters:
Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls, Syrup and a Waffle Iron, Panini Press or similar
Place two Cinnamon Rolls on the griddle, and close the Griddle
Yeah, it's that easy!
Don't they look scrumptious? You can drizzle on some cream cheese frosting, or just serve them with syrup. Either way, they taste soooo good!
My hubby is having a little outpatient surgery today, to remove an umbilical hernia. It's a pretty basic surgery and things should be just fine, but I want to send out some love to him and let him know everything will be okay! And that I love him very much!
Okay, enough of life stuff. Let's get our craft on! Today, I want to share with you a quick and easy project to update those lovely mailbox numbers! You know the ones I'm talking about, right?
While there is nothing wrong with these numbers ( I know, I know….they're letters, but you know what I mean), I was looking for something a little more stylish.
I got out my Silhouette and got to work. First of all I chose a shape from the online store and downloaded it to my library. I measured my mailbox and made the label the size I needed. Next, I chose a font and inserted our house numbers into the label. Then, I printed the design on black vinyl. Super easy!
The last step was putting the vinyl on my mailbox!
{NOTE:} that is NOT my manly finger….it's my husband's! I was behind the camera!
Happy President's Day! I have the day off work, and I couldn't be more excited!
Today, I want to share a quick and easy project that I put together for a friend this weekend. My friend's Aunt is a huge University of Utah fan (who isn't?), and she asked me to make some coasters and a dish towel for her to give as a birthday gift. These coasters are super easy to make. I saw the idea originally on pinterest via this link.
First, I got my supplies together:
Basic white ceramic tiles from Home Depot (less than $1.00 each
University of Utah Scrapbook Paper
Mod Podge/Foam Brush
I cut my scrapbook paper in to 4" x 4" squares (slightly smaller than the tile). The first step is to paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on the coaster. Then center the scrapbook paper on the tile, and top with a coat of Mod Podge. Let dry. Repeat another layer of Mod Podge on top of the tile. You can put as many coats on as you like. I did three coats on each tile. One they are dry, you can cut felt squares, cork squares or even felt circles for the bottom of the tiles. This will keep the tiles from scratching whatever surface they will be touching. You can finish off the tiles with a coat of lacquer as well. I didn't take a photo of that step.
I accompanied my coasters with a cute University of Utah dish towel. The towel was super easy to make as well. Just material attached to a dish towel with Heat 'n Bond and Ric-Rac sewn (or glued) along the top and bottom.
What do you think? Cute and easy gift idea, right?
So……..did you have a great Valentines Day? Romantic dinner? Movie night? Delivering Valentines to friends and family with the kids? Whatever you did, I hope it was great! We spent time at home together, and then Carl went to the gym for his racquetball league, and I went to Zumba! Then we met back up at home to spend more time together! It’s the first year with no kids at home……so weird! But, we had a great night regardless!
A few weeks ago (has it really been that long?) we were invited to a Super Bowl party with some friends. Now, if you know me at all (who’s even reading this blog? Is there anyone really out there?)….then you know I absolutely LOVE appetizers. Love them. Like, I can graze on apps all night long and give up an entrée and dessert for more apps! Love everything about them. I decided to take two different appetizers to the party. A “bad” (i.e. fattening) appetizer and a “good” (i.e. healthy) appetizer! Nice, huh?
I went to my VERY FAVORITE inspiration site to get some ideas…..what site is that, you ask? Why pinterest of course! Do you pinterest? If not, why not? It is the most awesome thing evah! I promise you! And if you don’t pinterest, and want an invite……please email me! I’ll send you one!
Okay, so I have rambled and rambled long enough. Here they are:
O.M.G. Seriously…..both of them were delish! The Caprese Skewers were so light and crisp! The basil added the perfect blend of flavors with the tomatoes and mozzarella….drizzles with the warm balsamic vinegar!! And the Sideline Smokies? Oh my. A little bit of pure pork heaven is what they are. Seriously……soooooo good, and soooooo bad for you. But they kinda cancel each other out, right? Yeah, I know…..they don’t. But, a girl can hope, right?
Here are pics of my appetizers…….not nearly as appetizing at the pics above, right? But, I promise….they taste just as YUMMY!
Go ahead and give them a try! You will LOVE them, I promise!
