Tyson left on Sunday morning for a week long trip to Tennessee. His friend Matt moved back to Tennessee right after graduation this past spring. His Dad still commutes out of Salt Lake for work, but their home is now in Murfreesboro, TN. Matt was back for a visit this past week, and needed to drive his truck back home. So…..Tyson is going with him…..to help share the driving, etc. They are taking their drive slow, and stopping for some MLB games along the way. They drove to Denver on Sunday and met up with Matt’s dad who was there on business. They spent Monday hanging out in Denver, working out, EATING, resting up the the long drive today, etc. They went to the Colorado Rockies game last night and had a GREAT time! Today they left bright and early for Kansas City, MO. It’s about a 9 -10 hour drive, and they want to get there early enough to make the Kansas City Royals game tonight. As of about 20 minutes ago, they are in Colby, KS. Fun times! Here is today’s leg of the journey:
Each year, the fast pitch softball Triple Crown World Series is held in Park City, Utah. We are lucky enough that we don’t have to travel far to participate in the world series tournament. We spent most of last week driving back and forth from Park City, for all of Madi’s softball games……up and down the canyon…..up and down the canyon! LOL! This year’s team had very high expectations to do well in the tournament. There are teams participating from all over the United States (New York to Florida to New Mexico to California), a total of 38 teams in the A Bracket. After two days of pool play, Madi’s team (Utah Slilders) ended up the 5th seed (out of 38 teams!) going into tournament play. Unfortunately, they lost the very first tournament game! Ugh! They aren’t the best “morning team”, and didn’t quite wake up until it was a tad too late! LOL! The tournament is a double elimination tournament, so they were still in the tournament, they just had to drop to the one loss bracket. They won their next game pretty handily, and had their 3rd game of the day almost in the bag….however, one bad inning put them right out of the tournament. So disappointing for the girls! They had a great time though, and had lots of fun! The ended up finishing 11th overall. Still not too bad! Maybe next year!
Tyson’s good friend Lewis (far right) is leaving on Friday for college at the University of Hawaii @ Manoa on a football scholarship. Since he is the first of the boys to leave, they decided to go boating together last weekend. My brother Kevin (aka Cool Uncle Kevin) took them up to Jordanelle Reservoir for a day of boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, etc. They had a great time! They were exhausted and sunburned (tan) when they returned home. I can’t believe these boys are all starting college in a few short weeks. From L to R: Joe, Sean, Tyson, Andrew and Lewis. Tyson is the only other one (besides Lewis) in the picture to be going out of state to college. Joe is attending the University of Utah on a baseball scholarship, Sean will be attending the University of Utah and will play football, and Andrew will also be attending the University of Utah , but on a golf scholarship. Their other good friend Matt moved back to Tennessee after school got out, but will be coming in town for a visit this Saturday. They are planning one last boating excursion this weekend for Matt. He will be attending Sewanee University of the South in the fall on a baseball scholarship. Fun times! I can’t believe they are all so grown up! (Well, I use that term rather loosely!)
**PS – Thank you so much for the comments and emails regarding Cheyenne! It’s been so sad the last few days. I keep looking behind me, or around the house wondering where she is. She was always underfoot…so it’s weird. But, she isn’t suffering anymore!
We said goodbye to our beloved Sweet Cheyenne Boo last night. She had been with us for just over 14 years, and we will miss her greatly. As Tyson told Madi last night….he likes to think she is in heaven playing fetch with Anne. We Love You Cheyenne!
I found this on Carrie’s Blog and thought it was pretty darn cool! Go ahead! Give it a whirl! Warning though….It’s kind of addicting! LOL! *Click on the photo to make it larger! Pretty cool!
Happy 10th Birthday to my AwEsOmE niece Erin! 10 years ago today, she entered our lives and changed us forever! Tyson and I were in Santa Barbara, CA, attending Supercamp BMX while Madi was home with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Kevin. We were flying home the afternoon/evening of July 13th, and had a layover in Las Vegas, NV. We called home to let my mom and dad know we were on our way, and to talk to Madi, but we couldn’t get a hold of anyone. That’s when we knew Erin must be arriving! Sooooo cool! While Madi wasn’t quite so sure of the competition of another “girl cousin”…..since she had Uncle Kevin and Uncle Chris wrapped around her finger up until then….she was easily won over. We LOVE Erin like she is ours! Such a CUTE, CUTE girl! And sooooo smart and quick witted! She has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives! WE LOVE YOU ERIN! Happy 10th Birthday Cutie Patootie!
We got together at my brother’s house tonight for dinner, presents and some trampoline fun! Although, Uncle Kevin had too much fun! The lower half of his body went one way….and the upper half went the other! I’m worried we may be getting Uncle Kevin a Rascal for his next birthday! Love ya Kev!
Madi hosted her first boy/girl party last night at my brother’s house. He’s got a great backyard and house for party hosting! We had ROCKBAND and Guitar Hero hooked up in the loft above the garage, the volleyball net set up in the back yard, pizzas, drinks, and snacks ready and waiting. Surprise, surprise….the boys out numbered the girls by about 4-1! They a great time though. The volleyball games were very competitive and seemed to be the hit of the party. As soon as it started to get dark, we lit the fire in the outdoor fireplace and got out the supplies to make S’mores. Then we got set up for the outdoor movie. It was a lot of fun, and I think the kids really enjoyed themselves. A BIG THANKS for Uncle Chris for letting Madi use his house/backyard, and to Uncle Kevin for all of his help getting everything set up!
I’ve got some photos of the 3A All Star football game from a few weeks ago to share…..I need to get some photos of Madi’s softball team up as well. Madi’s team won the Heat Stroker tournament last weekend. They did great! It was so HOT though! We haven’t had a ton going on lately. T is done with baseball for the summer (sad!), but Madi still has a few more tournaments left, so that is good. We are heading to Eaglewood Golf Course tonight with some friends to watch fireworks. They put on a great show! Tomorrow, we are going to BBQ at my brother’s house, and then head over to the Salt Lake Country Club for more fireworks…and then maybe watch a movie outside. Should be a fun weekend! Low key, but nice!
1. Post the rules of the game at the beginning. 2. Each player answers the questions about themselves. 3. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read the player’s blog. 4. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

I hate posting without some kind of photo! But, no photos today. Just a little update of what is going on with the Moll Family this 2nd week in June! Ü Tyson flew down to San Diego on Sunday for his “senior trip”, with a group a buddies. Most of them drove down on Friday morning, but Tyson and another friend of his decided to fly down and meet them for various reasons. As a Mom, I was definitely worried about this trip! Wouldn’t you be? Six boys that just graduated from high school, in a condo in San Diego for the week? Well, according to Tyson, the trip has been pretty boring and uneventful! They’ve spent a few days at Pacific Beach , and went to a Padres game…but basically, they have been spending time watching movies in the condo! What is up with that! I’m sure they are having a good time while they are watching movies, but seriously….there is so much to see and do in San Diego! Why hang out at the condo all night! CRAZY! Here I was worried about them meeting girls at the beach and inviting them back to the condo for a party, or trying to sneak in to a club or bar…and they are doing none of that. Which, all in all, is a good thing! Don’t get me wrong. Just a tad on the boring side, for a senior trip! Ü Here’s a way to get some photos into my post….After a quick image search on google….a photo of Pacific Beach, and a photo of the PetCo Park! Easy, peasy!
Madi spent the beginning of the week at the University of Utah Softball Camp. One of her former coaches Amy Hogue is now the head coach at Utah, so it was great for Madi to spend some time with her and continue learning from her. She had a great time at the camp! We get started next week with back to back softball tournaments for Madi, which will be great. This will be the first full summer with her new team, and they are looking forward to a very successful summer! Their goal is to qualify for Nationals this summer. They’ve got a really great time with several players from the 3A State Championship High School team, which is awesome! Keep your fingers crossed!
Tyson and I are headed to St. George early tomorrow morning for a baseball tournament. Tyson flies in late tonight from San Diego, just in time to do some laundry, and get him packed back up. We’ll get home on Sunday, just in time for MORE laundry, and we’ll pack Tyson off for Logan, Utah for 3 days. He has been invited to play in the 3A Football All Star game on June 21st. The All Star coach is the coach of the team that won the State Championship last fall (the team that beat us!), and practices are held at their home field. That team happens to be in Logan, (2 hours away)…so Tyson and his friend Lewis will be spending 3 days up there practicing with the other players chosen for the team. Should be fun. Oh, did I mention that St. George at the very bottom of the state, and Logan is at the very top of the state! Ha!
That is it for the Moll Family! Have a super fun weekend!
