New laptop ordered…..check! Finally! Ordered a new laptop last night to replace our fried laptop from the flood of 2010. Ugh! Fun times! We have a desktop computer (which Carl mostly uses) and Madi and Tyson both have laptops, so it seems we had a plethora of computers to choose from at home, right? Well, I was primarily using Tyson's, but he decided to go back to college and take the laptop (what? he needs a laptop at college? What about his momma?) with him, so I started using Madi's laptop in between her facebook homework, while Carl used the desktop. Well, Madi's laptop decided to crash due to a kazillion virus' on it. So, her laptop is off being repaired, and we all have to share the ancient dinosaur desktop computer, which is a pain joy! So, my lack of posts and etsy shop updates, and crafts are now explained, right? ;) Back soon with some crafty goodness!
After sewing all my pillows on Sunday night, and doing tons of small diy projects around the house….Carl and I went to sleep with sugar plums (sewing machines and miter saws) dancing in our heads, only to wake up the next morning with a small bathroom flood on our hands. The master bath toilet had flooded in the night and we slept right through it (What, really?). Water had leaked out into the master bedroom carpet, and dripped downstairs into the family room. The only major casualty (my pillows were DRY!) was the laptop. It was soaking wet. Ugh. So, that resulted in no post yesterday. And this post is coming to you live from work shhhhhhhhh don't tell!
Hopefully, my hubby can get the laptop up and running soon! I've got some pics to share and I wanted to participate in the Nester'sChristmas Tour of Homes 2010. Wish us luck with the computer!
I had to hit Target after work today……I was in need of cough medicine. I have a seriously BAD cough. And it's not getting any better! Ugh, make it stop! Anyhoo….I did a swing by the dollar spot (again!) and grabbed some more ornaments. Apparantly, there has been a run on dollar spot ornies, because there were hardly any red/silver left (what????). No worries, I grabbed a few cheap (more than $1 though) pkgs in the xmas section, got home and got the glue gun heatin'! I had a faux pine wreath that I have used for several years above the fireplace, and decided to rip it apart and glue on some more silver/red ornies. Not 100% satisfied, but that's okay. My mantle is coming along but missing oh, so much. Would love to link it to Layla'sMantel Party , but it's just not ready for that level! :) I promised myself I would blog everyday, so this is what you get today. My mantel! Ha!
I has some left over ornies….so I put them in some vases….not sure where I am going to put them yet. Right now they are on my coffee table with my CUTE coasters that my friend Pam made! Love 'em!
I was surfing blogs last week and came across this post at House of Hepworths. Love the awesome ornaments that Allison found at the Dollar Spot at Target. While I was there on Friday, I picked up a bunch of silver and red tubes. Both big and small. I had just purchased a new GORGEOUS garland at Costco a few days earlier, but knew it needed something else. Hello glue gun and ornaments! Here is my new and improved garland!
I apologize for the crappy photos! I can't seem to get a handle on taking photos of xmas lights in the house with/without the flash. ugh! Sorry!
I still had a bunch of ornaments left, and I obviously, couldn't let them go unsued, right? Um, no!! So I found a jingle bell wreath that I had won at BONCO about 1o years ago, and went to town with the glue gun again. It now has a home on my front door. And, I'm lovin' it! :) Doesn't take much to make me happy!
So……Carl and I aren't really big on gifts. Well, it really just depends, I guess. It depends on the year, what's going on, and 'ahem', our financial situation. Some years we do gifts….and some years we don't. Which is cool. It is, what is is! :) BUT…..if I had an unlimited Christmas budget….this is what I would wish for! In no particular order!
Easy, peasy! The Apple iPad. Next?
A Kindle. I'm an avid reader….'nuff said!
THIS Brother Sewing Machine. I'm jonesing to start sewing again. My machine bit the dust a few years ago.
So…..it's been way over a year, since I have posted on this ole blog 'o mine. Craziness. Where has the time gone? I think it's time to get back at it! Don't you? Oh hell, who am I kidding? There isn't anyone out there anymore!
I'm making a goal to post EVERYDAY until the beginning of 2011! It's a plan. It's a goal. It's gonna happen! I promise! Even if I am the only one out there reading! And since I love photos with posts…..here are my babies…whom aren't babies anymore at all. This was taken yesterday, at the airport. Dropping Tyson off to go back to Redlands. After a fabulous visit with us for Thanksgiving. Love these two. More that I can even describe.
What a joy this little dog has been in our lives! When we got her 1 year ago, we vowed to make her a part of our life, and take her as many places as we could. We had Cheyenne for 14 years, and we loved her so much, but we never introduced her to other dogs or many people, other than family. We feel she suffered for it. She was super protective of us, and didn't really interact well with other dogs or people. We started taking Chloe to Madi's volleyball and softball games right off the bat. We even took Chloe to Las Vegas and St. George for softball tournaments, and down to California to see Tyson play football. As a result, she is so used the travel and hectic pace of our lives, she doens't even bat an eye being at the ballpark all day. She loves to play with other dogs and loves little kids. She has been so much fun! Love her!
Seriously, 7 months? Since I last updated my blog? Hmmmm……that can't be good!
And seriously, where do I even begin trying to catch up? And is anyone still out there listening? Or reading? I guess I'll soon find out! 🙂
Life has been good. The spring was busy, busy, busy with softball and taking a trip down to Redlands to see Tyson play Easter weekend. This summer has been busy with more softball, Tyson being home, baseball, and weddings. Good times. Good times.
Have a fabulous weekend (our last one this summer having Tyson home), and I'll get back to my regularly scheduled posting….which really wasn't so regular!
of my Beautiful sister-in-law, Anne. Ten years ago today, she passed away from a tragic shooting…..leaving behind a loving family, many, many friends and her husband (my brother) and 6 month old daughter. We will never forget you Anne! Always in our memory, and always in our heart!
