Football. The Judge Bulldogs lost to the Wasatch Wasps 31-28. We were tied @ 28 with 4.5 seconds left in the game. Wasatch was able to kick a field goal to win the game. Time ran out. Bummer. It was Senior Night as well. AND, the football field is being torn down at the end of the fall sports season. For those of you that don’t know anything about Judge Memorial Catholic High School, it opened in 1921 and is steeped in tradition. The football field overlooks the Salt Lake Valley and really is "one of a kind". So many tears were shed by the big, strong boys on the football team, as well as many of the parents. Sad to the loss on Senior Night, sad to see the home season closing and sad to see the last football game played in the old stadium.
Madi and Carl returned from Vegas late Sunday evening. They Utah Sting played well and Madi pitched awesome all weekend. She was hit by a few hits that went right back to her at pitcher, and she was involved in a "hot box" where the runner lowered her helmet and rammed Madi in the stomach. Poor girl. She is a very tough cookie and rarely sheds tears. Carl said it was so sad to see her go back to the dug out trying to hold back the tears. Finally she just let them come.
The luncheon at church was a lot of fun, but I’m sure glad it is over. The setting up and cleaning up is so tiring! Ü
And so another week begins. 1 softball game, 2 soccer games and 2 football games will take us through Saturday. Fun times. Wouldn’t trade them for the world!
Finally, it’s Friday! Woo Hoo! What a LONG, LONG week. Work has been crazy, busy and just plain unbearable. yuck. Every single night was occupied with one of the kids activities…. either practice or a game. Last night Tyson had a game in Heber City against Wasatch. Last year Wasatch beat us badly. It wasn’t even a game. We only saw the 1st half as we spent the 2nd half at the Heber City Hospital getting Tyson’s finger x-rayed. He shattered it. UGH. Painful. But, in true Tyson fashion, he didn’t let it stop him from playing. He continued on with the season just like nothing happened. Anyway, back to yesterday. We won. It was a good game. Not even a competition really. It was nice. After the 45 min. drive back down the canyon, I spent the next 6 hours (til 1:00 am) setting up for our annual fall luncheon at church. I’m beat today. BUT… it is Friday! And Friday means varsity football. Our last home game of the season. And it is senior night. We have some of the most awesome seniors this year. One in particular. Chad Meske. He took Tyson under his wing the summer before last. When T was just an incoming freshman playing baseball with the big boys. He has always looked out for Tyson. Great kid. Chad even drives T to school every morning. We’ll definitely miss him next year. He is just awesome.
Carl and Madi headed off to Las Vegas this morning. Madi’s softball team UTAH STING is playing in a tournament down there. Because of the luncheon tomorrow for me, and the football game tonight for T, we both had to stay home. Which is totally fine. I get to do the St. George trip in November with Madi. Girls weekend. Boys get to stay home.
Hmmmmm….. I may get to do some scrapping this weekend. After the luncheon tomorrow, my weekend is wide open. Yea! Carl and Madi won’t get home until late Sunday night. Maybe Tyson will actually go to a movie with his Mom. It’s a possibility.
I hope everyone has an AWESOME weekend! This should be the last semi-warm weekend for us. I think we are supposed to cool down next week. Fall is here!
Last year we repainted Tyson’s room with the colors of Judge Memorial Catholic High School. Crimson red and Las Vegas Gold. I told him that I would paint some quotes on the wall and also the Judge Mascot or Logo. Well, it has been a year and I finally got around to it! I used a tracer/projector to get the images on the wall, traced them with a pencil and then used paint/paint markers to fill it in. Very easy, but time consuming. These two walls took me about 6 hours. Sorry for the bad photo/scans…..
This book was recommended to me by several people in the last few weeks. I picked it up last Friday and the minute I opened it up, I couldn’t put it down. It is not a ‘pretty’ book by any means. It is a very real book that documents the six weeks the author spends in rehab. I loved it. I admit parts of the book were very hard to read, and a few tears were shed, but it was worth it. Pick it up and let me know what you think!
The weather outside is perfect. A nice warm fall day. Love it.
I have butterflies in my stomach. I have all day. I get nervous/excited when Tyson has a football game. I don’t get butterflies before baseball or basketball games…. just football. weird.
I’m leaving work in less than 1 hour. YIPPEE!
I scrapped last night. A layout for me. Effer Dare #1. Made me happy.
I love where I work, but hate my job.
I’m in the mood for sushi. yum.
I’m going to watch Survivor tonight. Can’t wait.
Tomorrow is Friday. Makes me happy.
I shave my legs EVERY DAY. Even in the winter.
I don’t like icecream
I’m blogging at work, instead of working.
I dreamed I was on the MTV show Laguna Beach. And NOT as a 40 yr. old mom, BUT as a high schooler hanging out with Kristen, Stephen, Alex and Jason. Made me happy, but made me sad to realize I’m really losin’ it.
The chicken pox (zits) on my chin are healing nicely.
I wish I could scrapbook all day every day and get paid for it.
I am excited for the weekend.
Tyson is going to a "Sweet Sixteen" party on Saturday night.
I either read or do crosswords puzzles for at least 1 hour each night before going to sleep. Which is why I never get to sleep before 11 pm.
I am very boring today…. which is why I have nothing to blog about except randomness.
I found this in the Veer catalog that I received today. I love it! I have hung it up on my wall at work. I used Elsie Flannigan fonts found HERE to create this.
The Judge Bulldogsare ROCKIN’ Region 10! Woo Hoo! Region play officially began last week and we beat Uintah 41-21. GO BULLDOGS! We are now 5-1! What a change from last year. Last year we won only 2 games all year. It was a disappointing year all the way around for the football team. This year they players and coaches have really stepped it up. They boys are playing "as a team" which is so important! This week we take on Union @ Union. Should be a great game! The JV team plays at home this week…. FINALLY! We have been on the road the last 3 weeks. It will be nice to be on our own home field this week. GO BULLDOGS!
Yesterday Carl, Madi and I drove up through Parley’s Canyon and through Heber City on our way to T’s football game in Vernal. The MOUNTAINS WERE GORGEOUS! I can’t believe how quickly the leaves seem to have changed. It was truly beautiful.

I know there are many more, but I am brain dead this Friday afternoon. Tonight we are off to the varsity football game. JUDGE BULLDOGS vs. UINTAH UTES. GO BULLDOGS! Tomorrow I’ve got an appointment for a much needed "Cut & Highlight". I can’t wait. We also have softball practice and soccer games for Madi. Not much else planned, except maybe some scrapping? I hope! Have a wonderful fall weekend everyone!
A cute picture of Madi and her friend Megan Nielsen. This was taken at a softball tournament last month and I love it. Madi has got the greatest group of girls on her softball team! Tons of fun!
