Yep! You guessed it! I went to The Nutcracker on Saturday night! My good friend Nicole called me Saturday morning asking me if I wanted to go. She had an extra ticket! We had a great time! I just love The Nutcracker! Thanks for inviting me Nicole! I had a wonderful time!
Forgive the blurry picture! We had great seats, but my digital camera sucks! Ü

I took the kids up Meuller Park Canyon yesterday to hopefully get some pictures for our Christmas Cards. These are a few of the options! I finally got Madi to get her hair out of her eyes! I love the way it looks pulled back like this. Cutie patootie! It was freezing cold (we are in the middle of a cold snap), but it was sooooo beautiful. All of the snow and ice! Very cool!

Judge Memorial Catholic High School, located in Salt Lake City, UT, has the VERY BEST 6th Man Club in the State….. possibly in the Nation? ÜÜ Ha ha! What started out last year as a small group of kids (12-13) cheering on the varsity basketball team, has now grown to include over 40+ members!!! 40+ screaming, yelling fans! It is so much fun to watch these boys and girls have so much team spirit. The varsity basketball team loves the extra boost the 6th man club gives them! Most other teams HATE coming to Judge to play. We have a very small gym and when you add a good size student section AND the 6th Man Club…. it gets pretty crazy! Oh and did I mention we have the top basketball recruit in Utah? Senior Daniel Deane. He was recruited by Kansas, North Carolina, Wake Forest, University of Utah, Gonazaga, UCLA and Stanford…. BUT, he chose to stay and play here at the University of Utah, where his dad played years ago. So…. nobody likes to come to our gym and play us! I don’t blame them! Anyway, here are some photos of the 6th Man Club. They all where "retro" jerseys and have now begun wearing "retro" shorts… you know the kind…. really, really short! Oh my! Oh, and Tyson is right in the middle of things, (#15) as usual! The funny thing is, he has said that if he makes the varsity team next year, he is really going to miss being part of the 6th Man Club. It is that fun for them!

Last week, our friends the Meske’s, dropped off the COOLEST gift for Tyson. The Meske’s have a son named Chad who is a senior at Judge this year. Chad has driven Tyson to school everyday for the last year and a half. He is just an awesome kid. The summer before Tyson’s freshman year, he was eligible to play summer baseball with the high school team. Chad made sure he took Tyson under his wing and definitely looked out for him. It has been that way ever since. Awesome, awesome kid. Anyway, after the football banquet, the Meske’s called to say they had a gift for Tyson since he was named JV MVP. This is what they brought over:
How cool is that? The rock is pretty big and is sitting on our porch right now! Cool! We love all things BULLDOGS! I just had to share!
On another note…… I walked upstairs the other night to see what Madi was up to. She kept grabbing paper out of my ‘scraps’ drawer, and taking other miscellaneous scrap supplies up to her room. Come to find out, she is making music CD’s for all of her friends for Christmas, and she has been decorating the CD jewel cases. Pretty creative, I thought!

CONGRATS to Tyson! Tyson was named JV MVP last night at the end of season football banquet! He had a great year and showed that hard work, discipline, and determination pay off! Being a sophomore, we didn’t know how much playing time he would get this year on JV, let a lone the varsity team. Tyson played almost every down during the JV games and was the leading rusher. He also played A LOT of varsity, even becoming the leading rusher in the game against Ben Lomond. Nice job T! WE LOVE YOU AND ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!

We spent most of the day yesterday listening to Christmas CD’s and getting the Christmas decorations out! I love decorating for Christmas! Here are a few photos of our Christmas decorating efforts. A photo of my kitchen window box, a photo of the bay window in the dining area, a shelf in the dining area, and one of the kid’s Christmas tree in the family room. We give the kids an ornament every Christmas for ‘their’ tree. Oh, and one more photo of Carl putting up THE BEAST! This is our huge tree for the living room. Each branch has to be put in individually. It usually takes Carl all day to get the tree up and then put the lights on. It is BEAUTIFUL once it is up, b ut a pain in the butt to put up and take down each year! Ü

Tyson got his learner’s permit today! Exciting (for him) and scary (for me)! He turns 16 on Dec. 31, which is a Saturday. So… bummer for him he can’t get his license until Tuesday the 3rd of January. (since the DMV will be closed on the 1st (sun) and 2nd (mon)). Poor guy!

Happy Thanksgiving! It is a beautiful fall day here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Absolutely gorgeous! In fact we could probably eat dinner outside on the deck it is so nice! Love it! I hope you are all having a wonderful day today! I just wanted to take a minute and type out a few of my blessings and things I am thankful for.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Much love and hugs!

This week has been a busy one! Basketball season officially opened yesterday! Tyson made both the Soph. and JV teams, so he gets to play two games in a row on game night! Crazy! I spent almost 6 hours in the gym on a hard bleacher watching the games (varsity also). The Soph’s and JV both lost, but Tyson played well in both games. He was pretty pumped with his effort. The varsity team rocked! They beat Cyprus by 15 points! This should be a fun season! We are picked to win 3A this year, and right now we are ranked 7th in the state (the highest ranked 3A team). Go BULLDOGS!
This morning we spent 2.5 hours unloading over 4000 turkey’s! I work for an ad agency and one of our client’s, Harmons Grocery Store has a program called "Gift for a Gift". For every turkey that is donated by one of their shoppers, Harmons will also donate one. So all of our employees and family members help unload the turkey’s that will be added to a sack full of thanksgiving day fixin’s. They will feed over 4000+ families this Thanksgiving. Madi had to be at school today, but Tyson and Carl were there to help out as well. I am so sore and tired! Every muscle in my arms, shoulders and back ache right now. BUT, it is a small price to pay for the feeling of helping others. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and food on our table! It is nice to be able to help others!
