Tolerance….
Why don’t more people have it? What is the deal? I frequent a message board that has thousands of members. If you are a scrapper, you know exactly which site I am talking about. It amazes me how many seemingly "nice" threads turn into train wrecks in the blink of an eye. And I admit it…. I’m one of those rubber neckers that can’t tear herself away from the wreck! Ü But seriously, why don’t people have more tolerance for others? What is right for me, may not be right for you! What religion I choose, may not be right for you. Who am I to say how you should parent your child? So what if you choose not to breastfeed your child. Maybe you’re not able to. What gives me the right to chastise you for your choice? And so what if you have a tattoo? (I have 2 by the way). It is your choice. It certainly doesn’t "hurt" me. Do you homeschool? If you do, great! If you don’t, great too! What concern is it of mine? Do you see where I am going with this? My world is gray. Not black and white. Not cut and dried. What works for me, may not work for you. What is a sin to me, may not be a sin to you. Would I have left New Orleans if I were told to evacuate? I would think so, but I really have no idea what I would do. I’m not in that situation. Would I leave without knowing where missing family member were? I haven’t a clue. I can’t even imagine what some of these people are going through. So how can I say whether their choices were right or wrong? I don’t think I can.
Okay enough venting! I’ll step off my soapbox for now! Thanks for listening!
Ali

very well said ali! i am totally with you. except my world is not gray, it’s full of color!!!!! 🙂 everyone has to do what works best for them with what they have and at the time and every situation and time is different. it’s easy for someone who has a different perspective to sit back once they’ve thought about it what they would and should do. but if you’re in the middle of it, you don’t have that luxury. you just react and follow your instincts or do what you can i think. and no one knows what that is until it happens and at that point you don’t have time to plan and think and analyze and all of that stuff. you can’t predict how you’d handle things. you can think of how you would like to handle something differently after it’s happened to someone else, but staring it in the face, who knows. we can’t judge people by their choices and differences. we don’t know the why. we can’t pretend to understand people we don’t know. we just need to accept them and be thankful american is a land of choices and you can live your life the best way that you see fit with what you have. whatever that means to you. because it means something different to each person.
thanks for sharing.

I agree with Shauna, great new banner! As for “that” site! I just try not to read those sorts of posts. It annoys me when someone write something and they get attacked. It seems ridiculous, so I just try to keep my nose out of it. Hard sometimes though!

Just discovered your blog. You go girl! That’s why I prefer our homegrown UK site… I think it’s more tolerant 🙂
