{Mint Fudge Brownie Parfaits)

Cooking / Food and Drink / Holidays / Parties

Did y'all have a great weekend? Did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

We had a pretty low key Saturday. I spent the morning at a St. Patrick's Day Zumba Party, which was awesome!

Great workout!

We were invited to dinner with some friends for Corned Beef & Cabbage (soooo good!), my assignment was to bring dessert.

I wanted to do something fun and creative, but didn't know what to do. I had some jelly jars in my party, left over from a strawberry shortcake dessert I did last fall for a tailgating party.

Why not use those?

I surfed the net and came up with THESE Mint Fudge Brownie Parfaits, from Kristan @ Confessions of a Cook Book Queen.

So easy, and so yummy!

The super cute labels came from How Does She

I think they add the perfect finishing touch!

Happy Monday!

I hope you have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

{Happy St. Patrick’s Day}

Holidays

Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

For years, my kids participated in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Salt Lake City, usually with their schools.

Last year was Madi's last year to participate in the Parade with the high school

Now she has moved out (older brother is away at college) and won't be home for me to make Green Pancakes, Green Eggs and Ham, or even Green Milk.

I have no little ones at home anymore, to celebrate the holiday with!

Sadness!

But, today is your lucky day! I've been browsing Pinterest and blogs all month, and boy are there some FANTABULOUS ideas out there!

Holidays / Recipes

It's almost St. Patrick's Day, and over the weekend I was craving a little treat. I decided to make some Pretzel Hugs/Kisses! So yummy and easy!

Cast of characters: Pretzels, M & M's and Hershey's Hugs

Start by placing pretzels on a baking sheet, and then topping each pretzel with a Hershey Hug. Place in a 200 degree oven for 8 minutes, just until the Hugs start to melt

Here they are straight out of the oven. Then place an M&M on each Hug. I used the green coconut M&M's.

What do you think? Have you ever made these? So easy, and so good! Salty and sweet!

Enjoy!

Valentines Decor

Valentines Decor
I finally got out my Valentines Day decorations. I had been meaning to bring the bin up from the basement last week, but life got in the way. I always seem to switch things around from year to year, never keeping things the same as the year before……oh well! Keeps it interesting, right?!?!

IMGP9259
First up, my cupcake liner wreath. Super easy, but super cute! I have it hanging in our entry way.

IMGP9266
The mantle this year – similar to last year's mantle, but a little bit more simple.

IMGP9263
And the big shelf in our breakfast nook. Nothing too spectacular, but it makes me happy to see some red/pink and hearts!

Do you decorate for Valentines Day? If so, I would love to see what you've done!

PEEPS!

Holidays

PEEPS

WP_000328

I picked these up for my son Tyson, who is away at college in California.  BOTH of my kids LOVE Peeps!  They like to put them in the freezer before eating them.  Ewwwww.

My opinion of peeps….can't stand 'em.  But both my kids love them.  What is up with that?

I never bought Peeps for their Easter basket's when they were little, because of my aversion to them.  But, somewhere along the way…they found out about them.

And it was love at first sight.

I don't get it.

The texture is weird.

They are kind of crunchy (stale?) on the outside…but soft on the inside.

Ew.

Me no likey.

What about you?

Love 'em?  Hate 'em?

Indifferent?

Would love to know!

Happy April Fools Day!

Holidays

I cannot believe it is April 1st already!  And it is a BEAUTIFUL spring day here, in SLC!  Finally!

And it's April Fools Day!

Do you celebrate?

Play pranks and jokes?

We did when my kids were smaller, but now they are older, and we just kind of forget about the holiday.

Sad.

Although, it doesn't help that Tyson is away at college in California, and Madi is in St. George for spring break…so they aren't even around to prank!

BUT, for those of you with little ones, here are some FUN food ideas for this day of fools!

Silly cupcakes from Our Best Bites

How about these Mashed Potato Sundaes from Bake at 350 ? Love this idea!

Kinda wishing I had kids at home today…..just to food prank 'em!

Enjoy your day fools!

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Family / Holidays

Happy Fat Tuesday y'all!  Live large and party on tonight!  For tomorrow, we fast! 🙂

What's on your menu for tonight?  Maybe some Spicy Shrimp Jambalaya?

Photo and recipe credit HERE

Or how about some Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo

If spicy  isn't your cup of tea, how about something sweet? Maybe a nice warm Beignet?

How good does that look?  Photo credit and recipe found HERE

Or you could always have a slice of King Cake!

Or will you be spending tonight on Bourbon Street, in New Orleans….wearing a mask & riding on a float?

While I would love to experience Mardi Gras some day in New Orleans, the Moll Family will be hanging out at home.   Possibly celebrating Fat Tuesday with some fast food!  Since we are giving up fast food for Lent!  Last day for 40 days to partake…..what to do, what to do!

ENJOY!
