{Jewelry Organization}

Before & After / Organization

So, in the spirit of keeping it real around here on the blog….I'm going to post a picture of my super, fabulous jewelry organization:

Pretty super, fabulous, huh?  Don't judge, please!

We had a tall, skinny dresser that was in the spare bedroom, that become Tyson's room when he came home after graduation from college.  He didn't need the dresser, so it was moved in to my craft room, which did NOT have room for it.  We have a so-so sized walk in closet, but it is packed to the gills with clothes.  I've gone through my closet many times and gotten rid of a ton of stuff.  My problem, is that I like to be able to see my clothes.  I don't like them hidden away in drawers where I can't see what I have.  So a lof of my clothes live in the closet.  We had a spot at the end of the closet that I thought might be perfect for the dresser.  I could put all of my work out clothing in the dresser and organize my jewerly on top!

Madi had an old bulletiin board in her room that she didn't take with her when she moved out.  I thought it would be awesome to hang my necklaces from!  And it was!  So without further ado, here is my "for reals" jewelry organization:

Sorry for the crappy lighting!  It's hard to get good photos in a dark closet without any natural light!

Anyway, what do you think?  It's only been 3 days, but so far, so good!  I'm  lovin' it!

Question for you:

How do you organize your jewelry?  In a box?  In a drawer?  In a pretty display?

Let me know!

{Tyson’s Room Re-do}

Before & After / Decorating / Our House

As some of you may remember (due to my roller coaster blog posting!), Tyson went away to college about 4 years ago!  About two years after he left for college, we moved Madi into his room (sorry, slacker and no photos – believe me - it was a CUTE room!).  Then SHE graduated from high school, and decided to move out!  What?

Wait, no worries.  Her "new" room (the bigger of the two spare rooms) became my craft room! Excuse the mess, this was right in the middle of Christmas present wrapping!

Hello, heaven on earth!

Then Tyson graduated, and moved home temporarily, but who wants to live in a tiny, purple room?

IMGP9559

T wasn't home 12 hours and we were at Lowes picking up a gallon of paint.  I put Tyson to work in no time!

Purple room no more!

IMGP9568

Please remember, this is the room of  recent college grad.  Hence, the shot glasses, champagne bottle, decorated cap, and laundry!

The past two years, Tyson has shared a house (The Yellow House) with two brothers:

They (parents and brothers) gave Tyson this sign for graduation:

Pretty cool, right?  They had several neon signs like this in the Yellow House.  So fitting!

IMGP9572

I know it's not much, but the whole room only cost us the price of a gallon of paint!

And now Tyson, has a  nice comfortable place to sleep for the next few months!

Have you painted a room lately?

Done a quick fix, just to make a room "liveable"

I would love to hear!

Please share!

{Mission: Organization}

Before & After / Organization

I have a drawer.

A kitchen drawer.

I bet you might have one too.

I'm embarrassed of this drawer.

She (?) is a catch-all for every utensil I own.

And it is beyond out of control.

Wanna see her?

Yeah, I figured you did…..Why do we like to see other's crap and disorganization so much?

Pretty crazy, huh?

A big ol' mess!

Um, how many spatulas does a person need? And see those utensils that clip into a mixer type thing?

I don't even have that mixer thing anymore. Why do I have the utensils?

Serving spoon heaven, right? And I see a few items that I'm not even sure what they are!
I'm pretty sure they came from my wedding – 24 YEARS AGO! Yikes!

Hmmmm, wine openers? And holy cheese knives!

*NOTE: the Carmex was not in the junk drawer! But, if you know me at all, you know it's not far from my side

At all times.

Can you say ADDICTED?

Are you ready to see a nice, tidy drawer?

It's she purdy?

I love it!

And it only took about 20 minutes!

Oh and those cheese knives?

Who has this many?

And why?

Do I need this many?

Wait don't answer that!

What small area in your home have you organized that made you happy?

Even though it was a small area?

{DIY Chalkboard}

Before & After / Crafts / DIY

Happy Thursday Ya'll!

That means it's almost Friday!

YEE-HAW!

Can't wait!

I've wanted to DIY a large chalkboard for my craft room, for quite some time

And last weekend was the perfect time

With warmer temps, it was perfect weather for getting' my spray paint on!

First of all I hit our local thrift store and picked up this beauty (glass still intact)

For $10

Pretty darn cheap, right?

I got busy taping off the frame so I could spray paint directly on the glass

I used these items for my project:

Don't judge the beauty that my yard isn't is….it's still "SPRINTER" (spring+winter) here in Utah!

After letting the chalkboard paint dry, I moved inside to paint the frame

Just plain old white

Nothin' special

But perfect for what I'm looking for

Don't pay any attention to Chloe……she's trying to photo-bomb!

Here's the completed chalkboard:

And all ready to hang on the wall in my craft room:

What do you think?

I'm quite smitten!

I can't wait to change up the quotes!

Now…..I just have to get the hubs to hang it up for me!

This thing is H E A V Y!
