Can’t seem to catch up!

Uncategorized

Yikes!  I can’t seem to catch up on everything!  I put life on hold while the State Baseball Tournament was going on, and then there was Baccalaureate and Graduation….then the all night grad party, and more graduation parties last weekend.  I can’t catch up with my laundry, housework, clutter, etc.  There’s always tomorrow, right?!?!?!

We had Madi’s softball banquet last weekend at The Cottonwood Club and it was really nice.  A tad pricey, but the food was good, and they did a great job with the banquet.  Madi received the Slugging Percentage Award, which is based on the number of bases per at bat.  So, the more extra base hits you get, the higher your slugging percentage is.  It’s a pretty cool award, and only the 2nd freshman to ever receive it.  We were soooo proud of her!  Go Madi!

Saturday, Tyson was invited to participate in the Senior All Star Game at Lindquist Field.  He and his friend Joe, were the 2 seniors selected from Judge Memorial.  It was a fun time.  All Star games usually aren’t very exciting to watch, as you have to juggle playing time, and positions with all of the other players, so it wasn’t a very exciting game.  Well, until the end.  It was the bottom of the 9th inning the North Allstars (Tyson’s team) were down 13-12.  There were two runners on base and two outs, and Tyson is up to bat.  Nice!  If your a baseball Mom, you know exactly what I am saying when I say “Why is MY KID always the one up to bat when there are 2 outs!”  Sooo much pressure!  I thought I was going to pass out or hyperventilate!  But, in true Tyson fashion, he came through big and hit out to deep right field, scoring two runs and winning the game for the North All Stars.  It was pretty cool!  Nerve-wracking!  But fun!  Tyson caught for his best friend Joe, the last two innings of the game.  It will most likely be the last time they ever play on the same team together, and the last time T will ever catch for Joe.  They have been playing ball together (catcher and pitcher) for 12 years.  I can’t believe it!  Kind of bittersweet!
